Archiform 3D moves to the new HD standard

The recent battle of HD formats is over with the emergence
of the Blu-Ray format as the winner. Archiform 3D now believes
that the adoption of high-definition players will now increase
significantly and SD players will now quickly go the way of the
dinosaur. Archiform 3D is now moving all it's 3D
animated video
production to high-definition, meaning that you now dont just
get the warmth and visual depth of our Photo-Perfect images but
you now also get the sharpness and vividness of either 720 or
1080 resolution playback.
High-definition (HD) video is a significantly larger
image size. To explain; Standard Definition (SD) is an image
size of 720x576 pixels that is stretched in it's width to fill
a 16:9 widescreen. This stretching is called "anamorphic". The
results are nice but with 3D
animation you sometimes suffer from
jagged edges and you may lack clarity in small details.
HD comes in many different sizes but the two
most common as 720 (1280x720 pixels) and 1080 (1920x1080 pixels).
Both sizes are far superior to SD footage. HD also breaks past
the previous NTSC nd PAL compatibility issues, with different
frame rates and formats now able to easliy be played on any Blu-Ray
player. The slight loss in the quality that NTSC viewers suffered
is no longer necessary.
Internet delivery of our HD 3D animated and virtual
tour footage is now also improved. If a client or viewer wants
the option for the larger download of a high-definition movie
then HD is a perfect option.
Archiform 3D still supports the older SD formats
and it is considered this will be required for some time. There
are so many SD players in the market and it is unlikely that
these will be replaced overnight. The 3D HD footage can be downsampled
to SD PAL or NTSC for authoring onto DVDs.
