Architectural challenge for Cinema 4D users
Ever wanted a job or contract in the architectural
3D field? Or have you ever wanted to just mess around with an
architectural scene? Being specialists in this field we get a
lot of enquiry from people wanting to try it out, and for the
first time we are now offering to everyone the chance. We are
going to progressively release pre-made architectural 3D
models of real jobs in Cinema 4D format. They are devoid of textures,
settings, cameras or anything that the Cinema 4D 3D
artist would
need to add.
You can then post the images on Renderosity for
all to view, and if you are looking for a
job of to do some contracting with
us then definitely send your images to us.
We look at every piece submitted. You should include a description
of how you made the image and how long it took you.
Naturally, we have already created renderings of the challenge
jobs, but we aren't going to post them with these files. We don't
want you to try and emulate our scene - that would take all the
fun out of it!
There is no time limit for these 3D challenges - they are continuous.
1st Challenge, October 2005 - an apartment
Interior scenes are the hardest to make realistic. They involve
detailed work on textures, furniture modelling and various props.
But by far the hardest thing to get right is the lighting, even
with Cinema 4D's advanced rendering features such as radiosity.
In this challenge we aren't specifying that you use any technique,
so radiosity or no radiosity, you need to get the most pleasing
scene produced. If you can animate it too then that is a bonus!

2nd Challenge, October 2005 - a house
Exterior scenes are usually approached in an entirely different
way to interiors. Everyone in this field must learn how to make
a great grass texture, perfect plants and simulate real-life
environments.
